We have been doing extensive remodeling here at the casa and I have not written as much as I would like, too much going on to focus on my iPad. I have been writing a little and closing in on the end of the first Rock Johnson tale, but also reading quite a bit and I had another idea:
What if we took the men's adventure aesthetic/theme/genre (or whatever you want to call it) and set the story in a post-apoc, the world has fallen scenario? Toss in a tough as nails, veteran and now a survivalist, hero in there? Trained in warfare, survival, and hunting and let him loose upon the unsuspecting world.
Sounds like a damn good time! Bill suggested Duke Samson as our hero's name. I thought at first this was a little over the top, but then figured, why not?
Simply "Duke" to the soldiers that adored him, served in wars, lead soldiers, and then retired after he rubbed a powerful politician the wrong way and disappeared into the mountains of his native Tennessee. Set a few years after the world came crashing down and society collapsed. Now the man just wanting to be left alone has been pushed to far! Nothing will stop The Duke when vengeance is on his mind!
I am thinking the presence of The Duke, with the impressive frame of Helmsworth, and the undeniable fighting skills and tenacity of John Wick stalking around a fallen world in search of those who wronged him.
And frankly, that sounds fucking awesome! Covers coming soon!
Duke Samson for the win!!!
ReplyDeleteThabks for the suggestion!
DeleteOh, outstanding! I'd read/play that!
ReplyDeleteI’ve already started writing the outline for this one. The second cover is AMAZING. I cannot wait to share it.
DeleteThis one has adventure written all over it!
ReplyDeleteNot gonna lie, I have hardly written anything for or about Duke and I already love him. ;-)
